 Welcome to October!

Reminders:

EHS Terry Fox Run: Friday, October 2

Wear your Eric Harvie School colours (blue & orange) on Friday, October 2.  This year is the 40th Anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope and Eric Harvie School is proud to be continuing the legacy of one of our greatest heroes. Please join us and support this wonderful cause by donating to: http://www.terryfox.ca/EricHarvieSchool. Together, we can all make a difference! #terryfoxschoolruns @terryfoxfoundation

Bring you ‘toonies for Terry’ and drop them off at your school entrance door every morning during the week.  Eric Harvie School raised over 4000.00 last year and even more in previous years.  Let’s reach for that again this year!

  Google Classroom

*** We have set up a Google Classroom for grade 1/2 learners. Work has been posted in order to assist children who are missing school for an extended period of time due to illness or quarantine. The work posted is NOT daily homework. It can be accessed through your child's gmail account and password. If you have any further questions please contact your child's teacher. ***

Our Day:

We continued to work on our Friendship Journals today, slowly making our way through each student in our classes. Today we paid close attention to writing our words on the lines in our book. Ask your child who we learned about today!

Today we also handed out our free writing ideas and practiced our first round of journal writing. Students got to choose anything they wanted to write about, and could draw a picture to go along with it. Ask your child what they wrote about today! In Math, we continued working on Representing Numbers. Mr. Kai and Ms. Wauthier's classes played a game called "Castle Battles" and student had to roll the dice to battle their partners castle. We had so much fun, and many students said that math was their favourite part of the day!

Lastly, in preparation for tomorrow's Terry Fox run, we read a story called "Terry Fox and Me". Students are learning all about why we do the Terry Fox run each year! We will see you tomorrow for a half day!
