 Hello and Welcome Back to School!

It was a beautiful spring day to welcome all of the students back to school today. Thank you for continuing to follow our healthy school protocols by doing a health check each morning with your child and by sending them with masks to wear each day. We continue to appreciate your support!

Reminders:

IT IS CLASS PICTURE DAY THIS THURSDAY. Students will have individual and class photos done this Thursday. Mrs. Campbell keeps forgetting to send home the reminder notice (SORRY!). Here is a photo of it. 

Thursday, April 8, 2021 Spring Picture Day



Highlights from our Day:
 
  • Students are working on learning different strategies for adding depending on their skill level. Some students are learning on about adding one more or two more to a number while other students reviewed the concept of adding doubles and doubles plus one 
  • Mrs. Campbell's class finished up a spring bunny and bears art project that they started before spring break
  • Mr. Kai's class headed to music this afternoon, while Mrs. Bowles' class participated in a health lesson focusing on building friendship skills
  • In literacy Mrs. Campbell's class spent time sharing about their spring break and writing about their outdoor adventures, Easter celebrations and/or spring happenings. It was great to be able to catch up and share with everyone today
  • Mr. Kai and Mrs. Bowles' classes have a new word list coming home today for word work and they continued to work on completing their good copy of their 'How To' writing

  Reminders: - This week is Teachers' Convention - there will be NO SCHOOL on Thursday, February 11th and Friday February 12th. - Monday, February 15th is Family Day - NO SCHOOL - we will see you all back at school on Tuesday, February 16th. - we will not be  exchanging valentines this year Highlights from our day: - we had and exciting presentation from Earth Rangers today and learned about animal conservation and how to take care of the earth. REMINDERS Families Helping Families As is our tradition at Eric Harvie School, again this year we are calling on your kindness and generosity to help support a family in need at Christmas.  This year, we will be supporting 10 families at Colonel Fred J. Scott School who may need a little extra help to make Christmas brighter.  While in past years we asked for specific gift donations for individual family members, due to the pandemic, this year will look different.      This year we are asking for monetary donations.  These donations will purchase a variety of gift cards (eg. Walmart, Superstore, Safeway) and small stocking stuffers gifted to each member of the 10 families in a stocking.  Parent Council has generously offered their support by collecting the money via direct deposit and helping purchase the gifts.   Donations can be made via at   ehsestreasurer@gmail.com    (No password required.)  and are welcomed on or before...
