 Happy Friday!

Updates: Our current practice when students are leaving the building for outside time or mask breaks is to use a Ziploc bag assigned to each child to store their masks.  We have noticed that some students are using fanny packs to carry their masks around, which seems to work really well to keep them with the child and avoid any additional handling.  We would welcome families that choose to, to send a fanny pack with their child for mask storage, however if you choose not to, we will continue to offer the Ziploc bags for storage.

Reminder: No school on Monday September 7th! Have a great long weekend!

Our Day: Today the Peace group worked on an art project that we called “Behind the Mask”. This project allowed students to draw themselves, or a fictional character wearing a mask, and draw what they look like without a mask. Here are some examples of our work:

We also learned all about our personal space bubbles. The hula hoops that we use everyday help us maintain our personal space bubbles. Ask your child how we used our hula hoops today!

We finished our day with gratitude time, and each student had an opportunity to share what they were grateful for. Here are some things that we heard:

  • “I’m grateful for my mom and dad and baby sister”

  • “I’m grateful for hula hoops to keep us safe”

  • “I’m grateful for my teachers and my friends”

  • “I’m grateful that we got to play outside on the field”

Parents, we want to thank you for all of your hard work during the Spring and Summer months with your children. We have noticed many students arriving to school with new skills- your hard work has paid off!

See you on Tuesday!
