 A Beautiful Day!

Reminders:

  1. Starter packages have been sent home with your child. These packages include Media Release Forms, Demographic Forms, and other information you might need to help us have a strong school start up. Please review the information in the package and send back any completed forms by September 18th.

  2. You can now send indoor shoes to school with your child.  Please label them with your child's name.

Our Day: 

Today two students finally got the chance to sit under the spotlight for our Friendship Journals. We learned many interesting things about them and then got the chance to practice our writing as we recorded their answers. It was tons of fun drawing pictures to accompany our writing! 

We also brainstormed ideas for our "Class Contract". This contract is a set of promises that we are making to each other as a class. Some examples of the rules we brainstormed are "Be Respectful of the Classroom", "Include Others in our Learning", and "Always Be Kind". We will be writing this contract on a large piece of paper and signing it later on! 
Ask your child which promise we made to each other was the most important to them.

We also filled out our "Student Time Capsule" pages. These are pages on which we drew our self-portraits, recorded our hight, traced our hands, and wrote down our favourite colours. The idea is that we'll revisit the pages at the end of the year to see how much we've grown. What fun!

REMINDERS Families Helping Families As is our tradition at Eric Harvie School, again this year we are calling on your kindness and generosity to help support a family in need at Christmas.  This year, we will be supporting 10 families at Colonel Fred J. Scott School who may need a little extra help to make Christmas brighter.  While in past years we asked for specific gift donations for individual family members, due to the pandemic, this year will look different.      This year we are asking for monetary donations.  These donations will purchase a variety of gift cards (eg. Walmart, Superstore, Safeway) and small stocking stuffers gifted to each member of the 10 families in a stocking.  Parent Council has generously offered their support by collecting the money via direct deposit and helping purchase the gifts.   Donations can be made via at   ehsestreasurer@gmail.com    (No password required.)  and are welcomed on or before...
