Reminders:

We have now sent home all School Starter Packages with your children. Please fill out the documents and return them to school by September 18th. 

If you haven't done so already, please send indoor shoes with your child. 

We will continue to do our Phys. Ed. activities outside. Please bring warm outerwear. 

Also, just a reminder, we ask that students do not bring toys from home to school. 

Our day

We continued to get to know our classmates through our friendship journal writing. Complete sentences are modelled for the students which highlight proper beginning and ending punctuation, conventional letter formation and the use of appropriate spacing between words. We are learning a lot of interesting facts about our classmates! Ask your child one new thing they learned about who they wrote about today. 

Mr. Kai's class enjoyed music class today. Ms. Wauthier's class has music on Wednesdays and Mrs. Campbell's class goes to music class every Thursday.  In music students are playing games to build confidence and learning about beat and rhythm.

In Math,  Mrs. Campbell's class explored representing numbers in different ways. Students chose a number and represented it in their visual journal using as many ways as they could. Examples include using base 10 blocks, pictures, words, tally marks and addition sentences. Mr. Kai and Ms. Wauthier's class worked on Math About You pages. Students worked with a partner to learn about the numbers in each others lives. Talk about how math lives in  your family tonight!

Mrs.Campbell's class did some watercolour painting today in art while Ms. Wauthier's class continued to explore primary colour mixing. Mr. Kai's class will finish up their primary colour work on Wednesday.

REMINDERS Families Helping Families As is our tradition at Eric Harvie School, again this year we are calling on your kindness and generosity to help support a family in need at Christmas.  This year, we will be supporting 10 families at Colonel Fred J. Scott School who may need a little extra help to make Christmas brighter.  While in past years we asked for specific gift donations for individual family members, due to the pandemic, this year will look different.      This year we are asking for monetary donations.  These donations will purchase a variety of gift cards (eg.
