Updates:

• Eric Harvie School raised over 4000.00 last year and even more in previous years.  Let’s reach for that again this year!

 

 

• If you are planning on ordering your child's photographs please return envelopes with the correct funds by October 9th. There is also an option to order online. Instructions are listed on the top of the proof sheets you received.
• If you want your child to have retakes, please hold onto the order form until picture retake day (TBA)

Poem of the Week

Each week we will be learning a new poem, and reading it in various ways in the class. Here is a copy for you at home if your child would like to share it with you. We are learning about rhyming words through our weekly poem, spelling patterns, new vocabulary and practicing our sight words!

In math we are continuing to learn about repeating patterns and identifying pattern families and the core (repeating part of the pattern). Students created various patterns, were able to name them and identify the core of their pattern by circling it with a string. What repeating patterns can you find at home? In the neighbourhood?

In Social Studies we are starting to learn about different communities in Canada. We are learning about the differences and similarities between urban and rural communities.

We have also been working on our read to self stamina and are improving everyday! Great job everyone!!
