Wednesday October 13th
The snow has fallen and the students are smiling!
Reminders:
• Google Classroom: If you have not yet done so, please login to your child’s Google Classroom. We would like all invites to be accepted by this Friday October 16th. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have trouble logging in.
• Please provide your child with a pair of INDOOR SHOES for school. It is starting to get messy outside now with all of the rain/snow.
• We are continuing to have PE outside as well as other learning opportunities and body breaks. Please continue to ensure your child has warm clothing to be outside in
• Student Insight Questionnaire – If you have not yet submitted a Student Insight Questionnaire for your child, the last day to do so will be this Friday October 16th.
Our Day:
We began our day with Friendship Journals and continued practicing our ‘kid writing’. Kid writing is stretching the sounds out in words that you are writing and putting down the sounds that you hear. We are encouraging the use of beginning and ending sounds for our emergent writers, and beginning and ending consonant sounds as well as middle vowel sounds for our more experienced writers. Ask your child who they wrote about today!
In Phys Ed, the grade 1/2’s practiced dribbling the soccer ball, and passing the soccer ball to teammates. We also played a quick game of Captain’s Coming!
While Ms. Wauthier’s class went to music, Mr. Kai’s class continued learning about seasons, and created spring flowers making patterns with the petals. Ask your child what pattern family they used on their petal!
We continued learning about the difference between rural and urban communities. Today, Mr. Kai and Ms. Wauthier's classes finished their drawings of rural an urban landscapes!
