REMINDERS

Families Helping Families

As is our tradition at Eric Harvie School, again this year we are calling on your kindness and generosity to help support a family in need at Christmas.  This year, we will be supporting 10 families at Colonel Fred J. Scott School who may need a little extra help to make Christmas brighter.  While in past years we asked for specific gift donations for individual family members, due to the pandemic, this year will look different.

This year we are asking for monetary donations.  These donations will purchase a variety of gift cards (eg. Walmart, Superstore, Safeway) and small stocking stuffers gifted to each member of the 10 families in a stocking.  Parent Council has generously offered their support by collecting the money via direct deposit and helping purchase the gifts.

Donations can be made via at

and are welcomed on or before

OUR DAY

Mr. Kai and Ms. Wauthier's class are almost done writing their Friendship Journals! Tomorrow we will be interviewing our last friends and writing about them. Ask your child about something they learned about our "friends of the day" that we interviewed this morning!

Mrs. Campbell's class learned about the Canadian Arctic and the Inuit people. They also learned a traditional Inuit string game called Cat's Cradle! Ask your child how this game works!

For our Social Studies, Mr. Kai and Ms. Wauthier's class began their investigation into the Arctic tundra. We started by documenting a compare and contrast of our city community and prairie communities. Once we learn more about Arctic communities, we will be comparing and contrasting between all three communities.

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
