UPDATES:
NO SCHOOL TOMORROW due to Remembrance Day.
Remembrance Day
We changed the way we shared the Remembrance Day Assembly video. Parents have been sent a link via school messenger to access the video. It is a beautiful tribute in honour of Remembrance Day.
MASKS
Now that the weather is colder and we are playing outside during our body breaks, students are finding their masks are very wet by the time they come inside. Please send your child with 1 or 2 extra masks for the day. THANK YOU!
Jacket Racket 2020
We need your help! We are currently collecting winter wear for Jacket Racket as we have for the past 4 years. Due to Covid restrictions, we ask that you drop off new or gently used items in the collection bins outside the front door of the school. Jacket Racket will accept coats, hats, mittens/gloves, boots, etc. in children's and adult sizes. Please ensure the items are cleaned and in good condition.
Thank you so much for thinking of others during this challenging time!
OUR DAY
Mr. Kai and Mrs. Campbell's classes spent time today reflecting on Remembrance Day and watched the school video. We learned the significance of the poppy and were reminded of our job to help spread peace in the world.
Mr. Kai's class completed a drawing of poppies to mark Remembrance Day. They also had an orientation on the laptops and were learning how to use their student number to log in. Mr. Kai's class also enjoyed Music today with Ms. Coulson. You can check out the music blog here:
Mrs. Campbell's class continued reading Charlotte's Web and finished reading chapter 7 today. Students then learned about the importance of making personal connections to what we read and had time to connect to a time when they felt like Wilbur did in this chapter. Students said Wilbur was feeling: sad, scared, surprised (not in a good way), angry, worried, nervous, confused, hopeless and unloved. Ask your child why Wilbur felt this way. Students then wrote about a time they were feeling one of these emotions. We also learned about some natural resources that are found in the prairie provinces and mapped them.
