Reminders:

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!

‘Families Helping Families’ Update

Despite Covid changing how our Families Helping Families looked, it couldn't change the outpouring of generosity shown by our community!

So many groups of people have come together to support this peace initiative and we are so grateful.

  • Thank you EHS families for raising $2891.00 to support families at Colonel Fred J. Scott School
  • HUGE thank you to Parent Council for their overwhelming support, helping us to collect money and shop for gift cards and stocking stuffers for the 14 families
  • Thank you to Tuscany Sobey's for donating Christmas goodies to help fill our stockings
  • Also, thank you to management at The Gap (Market Mall) for extending their Black Friday sales to our Families Helping Families' shopper.

We are excited to stuff stockings and deliver the gifts to Colonel Fred J. Scott School later this week.

Announcement for Mrs. Campbell's class:

  • We are going for a coulee walk on Thursday afternoon. We will be leaving after lunch.  Please make sure your child has the proper footwear and clothing to be able to be comfortable

Highlights from our day:

Mrs. Campbell's Class
  • In social studies we started working on our Arctic Survival Guide. Students are taking what they have learned about life in the Arctic and showing what they know using words and pictures
  • For science we learned about polar bear adaptations. We learned some really cool facts about polar bears like their skin is black and their fur is transparent and hollow like a straw. We see white fur because of the way the light bends when if reflects whatever is nearby. So they look white, pink, or grey at times depending on the light.
  • We completed our our inukshuk paintings and started to make a little ornament. We are making tiny toques to decorate wreathes with. Wreaths will be given to the Seniors’ Complex at Varsity Village Manor,
  • We also had literacy centres and guided reading today. Ask me about the book I read and any new words I learned today.
Mr. Kai and Ms. Wauthier's Classes
  • We decorated our wreathes today to give
  • Mr. Kai's class had music today
  • Mr. Wauthier's class read an ABC book about the Inuit and started to explore the meaning of different inukshuit (plural of inukshuk)
  • We read Grandfather Twilight and planned a writing response and started some independent writing
