Reminders:

Not only is February 3 Global School Play Day, it is Winter Walk Day.

Phys. Ed classes will be outside tomorrow.

Get outside and be active!

Wednesday, February 3 is this year’s Winter Walk Day.  The goal is to get more Albertans physically active outdoors during the winter.  Just because it is cold outside, it does not mean we can’t be active outdoors.  Most of us already doing this; February 3 is a great time to celebrate it.  It may be as simple as walking to and from school, playing in the snow, taking a walk after dinner, going bird watching, or any of the countless activities we are fortunate to be able to do during the winter.

Our Day:

Literacy: Mrs. Campbell's class explored using our senses to write and brainstormed some sensory words. What words can you think of to describe how something tastes, looks, smells, feels and sounds?
Mr. Kai and Mrs. Bowles' classes were given the prompt to write about an Imaginary Place and used the 5 finger planner to help them brainstorm ideas.

Math: Classes worked on data management. We collected data in different ways and displayed them in a graph. Mrs. Campbell's class worked on creating pictographs with survey information that was collected, while Mr. Kai and Mrs. Bowles' classes collected information using tally marks.

Art/Music: Mrs. Bowles' class continued working on their Maude Lewis landscape inspired art pieces, while Mr. Kai's class joined Mrs. Coulson for Music.

Social Studies: Mrs. Campbell's class played a fun jeopardy type game created by Mr. Kai that the other classes played last week that culminates our knowledge about the regions of Canada we have been learning about. Play together at home by clicking this link. Have fun!
