Spirit Days are back for the month of March. We had so much fun in December that we have decided to do it again! Spirit Days will be every Wednesday in March with different themes. We look forward to see what you come up with.
 

                    March 10: Dress Like a Teacher Day
March 17: Animal Day
                March 24: Inspirational Shirt Day

 Our Day:

  • Our day began by continuing our introduction to non-fiction writing. We took a good look at different kinds of text features that are found in non-fiction texts and why they make finding information easier. 
  • In our Word Work practice, we spelled our words using Play-Doh to familiarize ourselves with the spelling and letter formation. 
  • After lunch, we learned more about number lines and played some quick games to test our understanding. We also listened to a fun story call My Even Day and we drew everything that was mentioned in the story that had to do with even numbers.
  • To end the day, we built boats out of corks to test our theories about how the shape of the hull affects the boat's stability. Ask your child about what they learned!

REMINDERS Families Helping Families As is our tradition at Eric Harvie School, again this year we are calling on your kindness and generosity to help support a family in need at Christmas.  This year, we will be supporting 10 families at Colonel Fred J. Scott School who may need a little extra help to make Christmas brighter.  While in past years we asked for specific gift donations for individual family members, due to the pandemic, this year will look different.      This year we are asking for monetary donations.  These donations will purchase a variety of gift cards (eg. Walmart, Superstore, Safeway) and small stocking stuffers gifted to each member of the 10 families in a stocking.  Parent Council has generously offered their support by collecting the money via direct deposit and helping purchase the gifts.   Donations can be made via at   ehsestreasurer@gmail.com    (No password required.)  and are welcomed on or before...
