Coulee School is in full swing! We had the opportunity to go to Twelve Mile Coulee for the morning. It was a great day for the walk. When we entered the coulee we all found a sit spot.
A Sit Spot is a technique used at many forest and nature schools that allows a child to choose a place outdoors that appeals to them. They will visit that spot repeatedly to observe the natural world.
The students stayed in their sit spots for about 30 minutes, documenting what they observed, noticed and wondered. The detail and the work that they did was wonderful. This work will be used as we learn about our community and the coulee. The students are very excited about the work that they are doing. As we move deeper into our studies we will be sharing the work with all of you. We will also be uploading our work onto the Coulee School website. We will share this link at a later date.
Our afternoon was filled with math for Mr. Kai and Mrs. Bowles and started some coulee writing. Mrs. Bowles' group had music and Mrs. Campbell/Ms. Albertson did the final touches on our large community mural. We will share this with you once it is complete.
Tomorrow is a normal half day Friday for all members of the Grade One/Two Peace Group.
