Reminders: Please return all visual journals, work completed over our online learning, headphones, and indoor shoes. This Friday is a PD Day.  Our Day:   Many of us wore orange shirts today to honour the victims of residential schools. Those of us in Mrs. Campbell's side went outside to tie orange ribbons to our tree to show respect. Today, during coulee school:  On the Biologists side, we started writing on our animal of choice. It's time to show what we've learned!  As Historians, we continued working on our watercolour paintings.  The Environmentalists are nearing the end of our work on our persuasive writing pieces.

Reminders: Please return all visual journals, work completed over our online learning, headphones, and indoor shoes. Next Friday is a PD Day.  Our Day: We began our day with some word work where we made words using letters that were given to us. Our letters were E-H-O-R-S-S-W. How many words can you make with those letters? After our Literacy block, we had our coulee school lesson.  On the Biologists side, we worked on our planning sheet where we started writing about the animals we have chosen to study.  As Historians, we continued working on our watercolour paintings.  The Environmentalists continued working on our persuasive writing pieces.  In Math, we played a game that encouraged us to practice our addition and subtraction skills.  Have a great weekend!

Reminders: Please return all visual journals, work completed over our online learning, headphones, and indoor shoes. What a great day for a coulee walk!  The sky was sunny, the birds were singing and the students were experiencing so much in the natural surroundings. The Biologists: Spent time at what we call "The Duck Pond," but we may need to rename it as we got to see a muskrat! It was as if the stars aligned as yesterday we were learning about the Canada Goose and lo and behold a pair of Canada Geese flew up into the air and we could connect this to our learning. We also had time to do a Wetland Scavenger Hunt. The Environmentalists: The coulee was our laboratory, to identify the human impact on the coulee.  We gathered our findings and we will be using this information to assess the positive and negative impact on the coulee.  We also were being environmental stewards of the coulee by picking up the trash as we moved through the coulee. The Historians: We brought the pas

Mrs. Bowles' class started the rough draft of their persuasive writing on why it is important to protect green spaces such as the coulee, with Mr. Kai.  Mr. Kai's class learned about Jack Rabbits, with Mrs. Campbell. We found they are actually hares and not rabbits! Hares and rabbits are actually quite different species.
