EHS Terry Fox Run: Friday, October 2

This year is the 40th Anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope and Eric Harvie School is proud to be continuing the legacy of one of our greatest heroes. Please join us and support this wonderful cause by donating to: http://www.terryfox.ca/EricHarvieSchool. Together, we can all make a difference! #terryfoxschoolruns @terryfoxfoundation

Eric Harvie School raised over $4000.00 last year and even more in previous years.  Let’s reach for that again this year!

Our Day...

Students enjoyed getting to know more of their classmates today during our friendship journal writing time. Mrs. Wauthier's class completed painting their heart maps today.
During music this week Mrs. Coulson has integrated music and art. Students have been exploring lines using chalk.

In Math today students sorted the artifacts they collected in the coulee and documented their nature collections in their visual journals. We worked on sorting by one and two attributes. For example, instead of just sorting all of the leaves into one group, some students further sorted by colour and/or size.

We are beginning to talk about developing reading stamina over the next few days as we will beginning read to self as one of our literacy activities throughout the day. If your child has a book that they would like to bring to school to read during these times, they are welcome to do so. Otherwise we have a classroom library that the students are able to be assigned books from for the week. The books will be retained after use in order for us to ensure AHS COVID guidelines are being adhered to.

We enjoyed our breaks outside today and our thankful for this beautiful fall weather!
