Reminders:

• Google Classroom: If you have not yet done so, please login to your child’s Google Classroom. We would like all invites to be accepted by this Friday October 16th. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have trouble logging in.
• Please provide your child with a pair of INDOOR SHOES for school. It is starting to get messy outside now with all of the rain/snow.
• We are continuing to have PE outside as well as other learning opportunities and body breaks. Please continue to ensure your child has warm clothing to be outside in.
• Student Insight Questionnaire – If you have not yet submitted a Student Insight Questionnaire for your child, the last day to do so will be this Friday October 16th. 

Our Day:

Today was a great day for writing! We began our day with our Friendship Journals and continued work on our "Kid Writing" were we tried to sound out keywords and spell them independently. 

After our snack, we had our first "Free Writing" session. This is where we're able to write about whatever we want. If we're stumped for ideas, we can pull writing ideas from our "Idea Jar". Before we began writing, we had a lesson on how to use the G.U.M. It (Guess, Underline, Move On) strategy. This strategy is a great way to approach words we're unsure how to spell. Ask your child what they chose to write about! 

To end our day, we finished the last chapter of Pippi Longstockings! It was a pleasant and funny last chapter. Ask you child what happened in that last chapter!
