Reminders

  • Please return any library books you may have at home. Students can check out new books every Friday.
  • Fun lunch is this Thursday
  • Pink Shirt day is on Wednesday, February 24th

Highlights from our day:

Literacy: In writing today Mrs. Campbell's class used the 5 finger story planner to plan out a story about a friend/sibling and a time when they had a problem and how they resolved it. Mr. Kai and Mrs. Bowles' classes continued to add details to their writing draft about a good friend.

Math: all classes reviewed even and odd numbers and played a game with a partner building numbers to 20 on two ten frames. Students had to spin a number between 11-20, build it then tell their partner how many more than 10 the number was, and how many less than 20 it was. The 10 frames helped us to subitize and count on.

Science: Mr. Kai's class experimented with the concept of buoyancy today by making non-floating objects float. Mrs. Campbell's class also continued this experiment today and both classes were challenged to see if they could change the density of plasticine and aluminum foil to make it float as well.

Roots of Empathy: All classes had virtual baby visits today. We are learning about how our "class babies" are growing and changing. They are fascinating and so very cute! We are learning about sleep patterns, temperaments, food preferences and new milestones. We are making connections to ourselves and our siblings.
