Reminders: 

  • Just a reminder that the weather is always changing.  Students will be going outside twice per day, lunch recess and during movement break in the afternoon.  Please ensure that you child has appropriate clothing for the ever-changing weather.  Some students were very cold today when we went from a beautiful morning to snow and windy conditions during our lunchroom recess and afternoon movement break.
  • Some of the EHS students have been working hard creating plays.  As this work has progressed they have shown interest in carrying these plays forward to something that they can perform and perhaps film.  They have been working on set, props and costume design and are hopeful that they can create these themselves.  If you have any of the following to donate we would really appreciate it. There will be a cart outside the front of the school at pick up and drop off times for any donations, you may also send them with your student to give to me.

Our Day:




After designing our boats yesterday, today was all about building our boats and testing them out! 

                                        

After our Question of the Day, we got right to work! We used our plans to chose our materials and we referenced our drawings to inform how we built our boats. It was great fun and everyone was very focused! We paused our work to have snack and to go outside for our body break, but otherwise we built and built! 


We didn't quite get the chance to finish testing all our boats, so we'll complete that on Monday. 

We then had a wonderful time listening to the fantastic stories of Saa'kokotoo. 

                                                

To end the day, we had our Gratitude Circle! It was a good day indeed.

  Reminders: - This week is Teachers' Convention - there will be NO SCHOOL on Thursday, February 11th and Friday February 12th. - Monday, February 15th is Family Day - NO SCHOOL - we will see you all back at school on Tuesday, February 16th. - we will not be  exchanging valentines this year Highlights from our day: - we had and exciting presentation from Earth Rangers today and learned about animal conservation and how to take care of the earth. REMINDERS Families Helping Families As is our tradition at Eric Harvie School, again this year we are calling on your kindness and generosity to help support a family in need at Christmas.  This year, we will be supporting 10 families at Colonel Fred J. Scott School who may need a little extra help to make Christmas brighter.  While in past years we asked for specific gift donations for individual family members, due to the pandemic, this year will look different.      This year we are asking for monetary donations.  These donations will purchase a variety of gift cards (eg. Walmart, Superstore, Safeway) and small stocking stuffers gifted to each member of the 10 families in a stocking.  Parent Council has generously offered their support by collecting the money via direct deposit and helping purchase the gifts.   Donations can be made via at   ehsestreasurer@gmail.com    (No password required.)  and are welcomed on or before...
