Reminders:

  • Our sports day for our pod will be on Friday morning.

Highlights from our Day:

  • In coulee school we are finishing up our last round! Students are finishing up their 'How to be' books, protect the coulee posters and historical perspective pieces of writing
  • We worked on a rough draft of a postcard to write to a friend in EHS school - each child is writing a positive message to wish a child in EHS school wishing them all the best to commemorate our 5th year anniversary
  • We are working on a year end  memory book! Students are enjoying reflecting on the year and making goals for next year
  • Mrs. Campbell's class read, Trudy's Healing Stone, written by Trudy Spiller. It teaches us that we can use a gift from the earth like a stone, to help us share our emotions. We can tell stone when we are feeling upset or angry. We choose 3 stones outside today, and painted them - 1 to to keep and 2 to give away. The stones are meant to be special, and to be held to help us let go of negative feelings.
Here is a litter bit about the author:

Trudy Spiller

Trudy Spiller is part of the Gitxsan Nation in British Columbia and belongs to the House of Gwininitxw of the Wolf Clan. Trudy’s traditional name, Lugaganowals, means a frog that is always leaning or giving. Trudy and her siblings were brought up to believe that children are like flowers.

Today, she helps families to grow and flourish by sharing her knowledge of First Nation medicine, food, dress, and practices. By sharing her stories, Trudy makes knowledge keepers of us all.
